DIY: Sugar Scrub

The weather outside is frightful! Best you make inside so delightful.

Vancouver was about as “snowed-in” as we get. My car hasn’t moved for the last 48-hours.

We have traded in our usual gloomy days, for a slip-and-slide.

Movies are a great warm option (check out my top five favourite claymation movies here).

This girl can only check Facebook so many times… and watch so many movies, before I need something to do.

SO, I made some sugar scrub!

It is easy! In fact, you probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen/bathroom. I do believe it could be a fun activity for a gals-night, or a crafty gift idea!

Other perks: It took all of ten minutes to make… and other than a few dishes, clean-up was a breeze.

A win-win in my books.

What You Need:

2 Cups Sugar (You can use any sugar you have OR salt)

1/4 Cup of Avocado Oil (Sub: Coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil)

3-5 Drops Essential Oil (I used Urban Body Organics Breathe Inhalation Oil)

3 Drops Food Colour (Fruit juice works: Raspberry juice is nice, but more perishable)

2 Measuring cups

1 Mixing bowl

1 Large Spoon

2 Small spoons

2 x 250ml Mason Jars

Twine, bows, parchment paper, stickers, or anything else to decorate the mason jar.

Process:

Mix 2 cups of sugar with avocado oil and essential oil, in mixing bowl.  Remove 1 cup of sugar into measuring cup. In mixing bowl, add food colouring. Mix until evenly distributed. Layer sugar in mason jar.

Benefits: Sugar scrub is excellent to rub on those dry lips (and really any dry body parts). The oil moisturizes, as the scrub removes the dry skin.

Thank you Rudimental & Skream for letting my use your song.

Get crafty this holiday season. Your skin will be left feeling silky smooth!
