If someone told me I could lose weight sitting at the spa, I would call them a liar…
However, I am here to tell you it IS possible, all you need is a bath tub and shower.
In many Scandinavian countries, there is a thing called a spa bath, also known as hydrotherapy. My local Canadian experience, was at the Scandinave Spa (<—click here for details) between Whistler and Vancouver, BC.
I started by sitting in a Eucalyptus steam room for ten minutes, followed by a plunge into a very cold pool, finishing it off with fifteen minutes of relaxation.
Hydrotherapy is meant to help relax the mind and body, while detoxifying and boosting your immunity. The temperature change stimulates lymphatic drainage, also removing toxins through your largest organ, the skin.
Toxins are stored in fat and age you. Depending on your lifestyle, your toxin load might be quite high.
The good news is, you don’t have to book a flight Norway, or even Vancouver.
You can create your own Scandinavian Spa experience at home.
Step one: Run a hot bath (option to add Eucalyptus oil <—click here to buy).
Step two: Soak for 10-15 minutes.
Step three: Pull the drain to the tub, turn on the shower to ice-cold, and stand under it for 10-20 seconds.
Step four: Wrap yourself in towels and a bathrobe, cuddle up in bed or in blankets and rest for 15 minutes.
If you do not have a bath, you can use your shower, alternating between the two temperatures.
Have a big glass of water before you begin. Try this hydrotherapy an hour before bed.
Obviously a clean healthy lifestyle is a key ingredient to weight loss and that youthful glow. A healthy lifestyle is the only way to sustain the benefits of this detoxifying spa bath experience.
