Chocolate Almond Brazil Nut Mylk

Rumour has it, that chocolate cows milk is FULL of sugar. Ok, it is not a rumour, it is THREE TEASPOONS per glass.

Over-all diary gives me the EW’s. I think it weird that we drink another mammals milk. Maybe it explains why some people never grow up…? Still sucking on the …

It does take a decent amount of natural resources to produce milk. And if you are an animal lover, it is no secret the animals are treated poorly to make your sweet treat.

But before I go all activist on you, I will just say, there are healthier alternatives, that you can make at home.

On a mission to make more Skinny Snacks, I decided to make:

Chocolate Almond Brazil Nut Mylk.

It is delicious, healthy, and in my opinion a guilt free snack that stomps sugar cravings.

What you need:

1 cup of almonds

1/2 cup of brazil nuts

6.5 cups of filtered water.

6 dates (pitted)

2 tbsp of raw cacao.

1 tsp of vanilla.

A pinch of cinnamon and Himalayan salt.

A blender, bowl, and a cheese cloth (or an old clean shirt). (Along with a container to store your mylk.)

Take the nuts and soak em in 2-2.5 cups of water over night. Strain, rinse, and throw into your blender.

Add the remainder of your water, and blend, until smoooooooth!

You want to cover the bowl with the cheese cloth, and slowly poor the contents out of the blender, into the bowl. Once you have strained out the nut pulp, put your mylk back into a clean, blender.

Add the remainder of your ingredients, and blend… yep, until it is smooooooooth.

I would say this took me less than ten minutes, and it tastes amazing. You can add it to coffee, smoothies, or just drink straight up, if you are hardcore like me.

Bottoms up.

Save a cow, drink nut mylk!  Share this with your friends that still think chocolate milk is a healthy snack.
