1.) Sunlight is important, often combined with attending to a garden.

2.) Daily exercise, get some! Walking being a favourite in the Blue Zones.

3.) Eating is not about gorging, instead being mindful and eating until 80% full.

4.) Consume healthy fats daily, including: nuts, oils, avocado.  Get a colourful variety of food daily, mixing legumes, fruits, and veg. Eat organic, home-grown, meats or fresh seafood. Eat from the garden as much as you can. Drink fresh clean water always.

5.) Have a purpose in life, enjoying humour, and a positive outlook.

6.) Emotional and spiritual health are nourished very much in the Blue Zones.  As are personal relationships. Family, friends and love are very important.

7.) Sleeping eight hours a night is a must. Plus take time to enjoy relaxing during the day; take time to nap and socialize.

Mostly the blue zones live a happy, healthy, balanced life. They keep life simple. They live in harmony with the earth.
