11 Tips For Proper Sleep Hygiene

Anyone that knows me, can testify I love to sleep.   This is not about being lazy my friends, this is strictly beauty business!

A lack of sleep can contribute to hanging eyelids, red & swollen eyes, darker circles under the eyes, paler skin, wrinkles, fine line, droopy corners of the mouth. It can also cause a person to eat more, and make poor choices around food.

Here are a few tips to help your slumber:

1.) Don’t go on Facebook, avoid computer screens, television, and fake lights.

2.) Get yourself some nice lavender essential oil spray for the pillow.

3.) Find a way to unwind: stretch or have a hot bath.

4.) An hour before bed, dim the lights or light some candles.

5.) Start winding down early in the evening to ensure you are relaxed by bed time.

6.) Alcohol is very bad for your sleep cycle. Avoid it.

7.) Have a sleepy time tea an hour before bed.

8.) Take care of your life, so you don’t have to think about taking care of it, when you should be sleeping.

9.) If you are stressed out about life, fix your life.

10.) Exercise in the morning, not before bed.

11.) Keep your bedroom strictly for sleep. No TV’s or gadgets in the bedroom. Make your sleep centre a sacred place.

Try to get at least 7 hours a night. Often this is just about time management. If you want to sleep well, make sure you are making your sleep a priority.
